TUDM masih nilai tawaran pesawat tempur Sweden

Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia (TUDM) masih menilai tawaran syarikat penerbangan Sweden, SAAB berhubung pembelian 16 buah pesawat pejuang Gripen NG sebagai aset tambahan kepada unit pertahanan udara negara.

Timbalan Presiden SAAB, Thomas Lindén berkata, perkembangan kerjasama masih di peringkat awal dan TUDM sedang menilai tawaran bersama-sama DRB-Hicom, selaku rakan kongsi tempatan.

French shipyard Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie (CMN) has introduced a new 95 m missile corvette design to the Asia-Pacific market.

A model of the corvette, known as the C Sword 90, was unveiled at the IMDEX 2015 exhibition in Singapore. The company is marketing it to navies that operate in littoral waters, especially in the Southeast Asian region.

Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, and Destroyer Squadron 1 participated in various bi-lateral training events May 10 in the South China Sea with Malaysian air and surface units in support of Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet theater security cooperation objectives.

The strike group conducted a photo exercise (PHOTOEX), a 5-inch gun exercise, dissimilar air combat training (DACT), and concluded with an expendable maneuverable acoustic training target (EMATT) exercise.

HAMBURG, Germany, April 16, 2015 - L-3 SAM Electronics announced today that it has been awarded a contract to provide the electrical distribution system for six Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). The ships will be built at the Boustead Naval Shipyard in Lumut, Malaysia, with Design Authority provided by DCNS of France. Deliveries are scheduled between 2017 and 2021.

The Chief of the Malaysian Army (Tentera Darat Malaysia), Gen. Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, has confirmed to the media about plans to create another armored regiment for the Malaysian Army. The new unit would complement the existing armored regiment, 11th Kor Armor Diraja (KAD) which is equipped with Polish PT-91M Pendekar MBT (Operational readiness PT-91M, 2010-09-07).

The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Singapore for the F-16 Block 52 Upgrade Program and associated equipment, parts and logistical support for an estimated cost of $130 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on May 5, 2015.
